Networking is a Process, not an Event
Business relationships take time to build, and networking remains the best way to establish, cultivate, and maintain life-long relationships. Here are the principal 8 Rules to be on top of your game when networking.
- Have a plan. Know how many and the type of people you want to meet.
- Arrive 15 minutes early.
- Wear your name tag on your right lapel.
- Address people by their name.
- Ask questions and sincerely listen. People feel comfortable when a genuine interest is displayed.
- Have a Rock Star 30 second commercial. Be prepared to describe your services in a way that intrigues other people.
- Ask for permission to follow up.
- FOLLOW UP! FOLLOW UP! FOLLOW UP!
That's it! Now, come to an ABL meeting, practice what you've learned and succeed!
